I'm Jo, the Creative Director at Take Two, and I'd like to begin by acknowledging the Gundungurra people, the traditional custodians of the land where I'm recording from.

Today I'm talking to Catherine Marie Longton, a quilter, designer and artist whose work is a beautiful lesson in what can happen when you take something deeply rooted in tradition and start asking, what else could this be? Catherine's new book explores one of quilting's most enduring blocks, the log cabin.

But this isn't really a conversation about a simple quilt block or about following the rules of tradition.

The ones that make you wonder how you got here and those that make you realise you're exactly where you should be.

So as soon as I meet my team and my group and we're about to head off, I, of course, do an Indigenous acknowledgement.

You know, we are on Darug and Gundungurra land here in the Blue Mountains.
