Games

I arrived on a red-eye from JFK to Heathrow on a Thursday morning.

With only one hour's sleep, I rushed to NYU London to lead a Sondheim Games workshop for students.

After checking in at my hotel and finally catching a shower, I returned to NYU for an evening event, which was packed, presenting to NYU alums, but also the general public.

On Friday, I went to the National Theater Bookshop, where I signed copies of my book, then took in the production of Into the Woods that only a few days earlier had won an Olivier.

And there is Sondheim at his piano.

And what's on that box? What's on the piano? All of these puzzle boxes.

A year before Sondheim passed away, he discussed his collection of boxes with Games Magazine with my now friend, Andrew Parr.

Would you like to hear a minute from that? Andrew was generous enough to share the order of that interview so I can share it with you tonight.
