Game Changers

I love the book series.

I love the Game Changers series by... rachel reed uh i am currently reading tough guy which if you know you know uh it's good i haven't finished it yet but yeah i was watching heated rivalry and i freaking love that show but then interestingly enough um i was on hockey talk like hockey talk and apparently we've had some interesting developments in the world of hockey because a lot of people are speculating that uh Okay, so let me just go into detail.

So there was a game last night.

And what's it called? Yeah, so you know how hockey players have their scraps, right? Like they just start fighting each other in the middle of the rink.

[laughs]

And that is, of course, Heated Rivalry, which is from the Game Changers book series by Rachel Reid, which is about, like just the, the gay players of hockey, right?

Mm.

It just follows several different couples as they-

So don't be worrying about that.

But Brittany, now that I have you here, obviously Common Goal is a controversial entry, I would say, in the whole Game Changers series.

What did you think of it personally?

It's cute.

By the time Unrivaled happens, I guess what year is that going to be set in?

That'll be like 10 years later.

well maybe only five i think technically it's 2017 isn't it for in um game changers i

think so yeah

It was huge in the zeitgeist for a lot of reasons, and we're gonna get into that because it's very important.

Um, but I thought it would be fun because I never read the book, um, books, uh, because Season 1 of "Heated Rivalry" is two different books, um, in the Ga- it's called the Game Changers series.

I'm not, I'm not misremembering the name of the series, right?

You are correct.

We've had some off-campus news there, and now it's time for some heated rivalry news, our other favorite series here on The Spill.

Now, Rachel Reid, the author, is in the midst of writing her seventh book in the Game Changers series, which is the basis for the TV show, of course.

And the series is called and the book is called Unrivaled.

Now, she's now offered some more insight into what fans can expect.

I am joined today by Kirstie from The Book Hashira on Instagram.

Kirstie is big into MM romance and in particular she's into the Game Changers series.

So we thought it would be great to have her on and give her some thoughts on Common Goal, which is the book that we're going to be looking at today.

Obviously, we've made our way through the first three books.

I like it.

I do like it.

To be fair, it's quite difficult for me to say that I dislike any of the Game Changers series books.

I do feel it's a bit underrated.
