Gallowgate

The first tenants have moved into their new homes at the transformed Bellgrove Hotel.

The B-listed building, located on Gallowgate in Glasgow's East End, has been converted into modern energy-efficient flats as part of a £20.3 million regeneration project led by the Wheatley Group.

The development, supported by Glasgow City Council and the Scottish Government, has delivered 70 mid-market rent homes on the site, including 14 within the restored hotel and 56 new-build properties nearby.

Robert McFadgen, a 29-year-old production coordinator from Glasgow's East End, is one of the first to move in.

We wish all our new tenants the very best and hope they will be very happy in their new home.

The initial acquisition of the former hotel was funded by Glasgow City Council using resources from the Scottish Government's Transfer of the Management of Development Funding and the Transforming Communities Glasgow Partnership.

The Belgrove project is the latest in a series of regeneration efforts in the Gallowgate area, where Wheatley Group has already delivered more than 200 homes in previous phases.
