Gallifrey One

Right.

And I think we've said before about Gallifrey One and other events that sci-fi conventions especially are very queer-friendly spaces, and there are dude bros and there are assholes, but they are the minority and they are typically not well-tolerated.

Meanwhile, I kept running into a little trans guy that I had met at one of the Star Treks that we went to a couple of years ago.

So it goes, that makes sense.

Sean Lyon knows what he's doing, but of course he's going to get this stuff up, you know, running Gallifrey one for decades as he has been.

So.

So not a surprise there.

Nice to meet you again.

David, of course, is a Gallifrey One.

One of his very few appearances in North America over the years, which is rare for a John Nathan Turner produced Doctor Who actor at that time.

Uh, Gallifrey One, of course, coming up in, in February, uh, early February, first week.

And, uh, the guests have been announced over the past week.

We've had multiple people say, oh, it's been cloudy for days, but you show up and it's sunny.

Our friends who got married there and now live in Utah said that, and our friend from Gallifrey One said that, and...

Yes, every time we've gone, I'm like, where's this rain I always hear about?

Yes.

Uh, because they... once they have something in the can, that's only when Big Finish will, uh, actually, um, announce something, so.

Uh, maybe if we don't have this in the show notes 'cause we forgot, but Jason Haigh-Ellery's coming to Gallifrey One, so maybe ask him-

'Cause of course, Jason Haigh-Ellery's there every year.

So, uh, may- you know, I'm sure he'll be...

I'm sure there'll be previews probably at Gallifrey One next year about the 10th Doctor and Rani, because any time David Tennant, uh, does an audio, when he's so busy doing everything else, he still comes back to do, uh, Doctor Who audios.

It's pretty cool, so.

There's a Doctor Who connection here too, per use.

I go to this amazing Doctor Who convention here in LA called Gallifrey One every year.

Oh, it's in such a lovely location too.

Yeah.

But I'm sad to say things are wrapping up, coming to an end for now.

And now I'm thinking about doing Gallifrey One.

Boy, it's a haul from the UK, but it's the second to last one.

It feels like we're coming to the end of an era.

Is this your first convention?

I've been to Gallifrey One a few years, but this is my first Long Island tour.

I'm a regular at Galley One, but the con being as big as it is, it's not a surprise we haven't bumped into each other.

But, you know, 20 years is 20 years.

We didn't really have the chance to do it for our 1,000th episode, 'cause we were on sta- stage with Steven Moffat and Julie Gardner at Gallifrey One.

Not a bad way to do number 1,000.

Which, right, I mean, and that's, that's honestly the big one.

There are probably a couple in there.

Uh, the, the news being of course we're talking about conventions and gathering and Doctor Who stuff.

Uh, Gallifrey One of course celebrating their penultimate, uh, edition in, in 2027, announced some guests this past week, being Geoffrey Beevers.

He what played the Master in, uh, in, in The Keeper of Traken, and of course has gone on to reprise the role in, uh, Big Finish.

He was one of the guests there.
