Galen Erso

Who designed the Death Star.

Are you talking about Krennic or Galen Erso? Galen

Erso.

If Jude Law plays someone like Galen Erso.

Oh, gosh.

I thought you were

Like, he's, he is completely living without hope.

Uh, and I think him as a prime example, and the, the guy who tells Cassian that he needs to go kill Galen Erso.

Mm-hmm.

Those are two prime examples of People who are looking for hope and they're reaching for it themselves-

[laughs] We see Saw Gerrera, and he's in this state of hopelessness.

Doesn't, you know, trust anyone or anything.

But we get the message from Galen, and this is- You know, in, in kind of the really first act of the movie, but it, or second act maybe.

But to me, this is the thematic crux of the film

does.

Saw Gerrera, Mon Mothma, Galen Erso.

Wait, refresh me on these.

Saw

Okay, and

then...

Galen Erso is Jyn's dad, the designer of the Death Star, who builds the...

Oh, I'd marry him, fuck the lady, and kill the guy with the weird mask.

you know, meet us, you know, come get us or whatever.

And Galen goes out to talk to Orson Krennic.

You like this opening scene.

You thought it, like, set things up well? Because it's still a pretty intense opening scene, even though, like...

but I guess I was

like this bitch here like messing the whole thing up I was like you know

yeah I guess it's because the movie's better if Jin is an orphan I think that's why that's why she does it I think more or less um But what did you think of Galen Erso, the father, who's like a kind of a small part in this movie, but also like pretty pivotal overall in this movie and in the overall story of Star Wars? What do you think about Galen Erso

as a character?

It's like this one tiny little... one is an exhaust port or it's a water pipe right and it's like that's the thing that starts this chain reaction that it's like if you can you can hit the small like the find the weak point find whatever the weakest thing is it's a thing they didn't even think about i mean in the case the death star right okay we've retconned it a little bit so that it was put there on purpose but like is find the weak point exploit the weakest point and then go from there see where that takes you next right and that's like that's that's uh that's the way you take them down

Maybe Galen Erso designed the Narkina plumbing also.

There's another

video of him explaining that too.

Mm-hmm.

So I remember thinking to myself, "Oh my gosh, you can see every little raindrop on Director Krennic's cloak," you know, [laughs] when he goes to see Galen Erso.

Mm-hmm.

And you know, so there's, I think there's a little bit of a trade-off on that, quite honestly.

I probably should have known.

What was the Rebel Alliance's codename for the hunt for Galen Erso? I couldn't for the life of me remember this.

I know that it's a Rogue One.
