And for years, we've been traveling around in cars, swapping stuff, and I'll send him an album.

He's like, have you never heard this Gal Costa album? And I'll go, you should listen to this Sheen, and he'll go, you know.

So we'd start throwing this stuff around.

And I sent him a lyric and said, do what you like with this.

I'm scientifically fucking dissecting it, and it kind of sucks 'cause I, uh, I don't remember what it's like to listen to songs, like, feel a song.

So sometimes to, to get that feeling I'll listen to, like, Gal Costa, which she sings in Portuguese, and I fucking know zero Portuguese, [laughs] but I listen to it 'cause I can just hear the melody and the music, and it makes me feel a certain way.

And so that's what happens with me kind of with traditional reggae as well.

It's like there's no lyrics, I'm not concentrating on the different content or harmonies or where it's going, where he's taking the melody or whatever.
