OK, talk to me about your dad being an actor and a chef, because both of those seem like two separate demanding jobs.

For sure.

You know, as they are, you know, their respective industries.

But I think there's a lot of parallels between them.

At the end of the day, they're both such big performance industries.

And I take this quote directly from my dad and we share the same sentiment.

But the thing about film and with acting and the restaurants is that there's so much of like setting up the stage, right? For example, with restaurants here, you're setting up a restaurant, you know, you have the prep cooks come in at 6, 7 a.m.

speaking of things that you should be making or are making you have some work coming up and it seems to me okay you correct me but like a lot of your work is kind of in asian asian diaspora storytelling that seems like identity seems important to you can you talk a little bit about that and like because you could very well be you're very talented you could very well be an actor writer producer that tells stories that aren't based in asian diaspora asian stories but like What about that is important to you?

yeah

and it wasn't until like 1999 where you know president clinton really acknowledged the efforts that these guys did so um there's a lot of argument and it's possible that again maybe if these guys did not fight for what you know what they did what would today look like differently so um super passionate about that story and i'm currently uh i writing this 10 episode limited series that uh as it was originally part of this filmmaking competition that we finished third in.

Unfortunately, lost to some ex-CBC writers, so I feel pretty good about that.

Big confidence boost for sure, but yeah, just taking our time developing that story.

Each message, each episode, I think, is an incredible story engine.

Kind of like Avatar, each theme is so rich and just want to do that justice as well too.

And I know there's a lot of people in that Avatar set that are super passionate about that project.

What's the motivation behind setting up that whole studio? What's your mission statement? What is your goal as a producer, director, multi-hyphenate yourself?
