And I suppose it also kind of emerged from this, like, year of this year of reaction to the implosion of the global health world that we knew that was in some ways imploded by the election and then inauguration of Donald Trump and the executive decisions and policy decisions his government took really, really rapidly that decimated foreign aid and USAID and then withdrew the country again from WHO and UNFPA and those sorts of things.

But actually, as Gabriel Leung and I argued eight months ago in the BMJ when we launched our Geopolitics of Global Health series, said the writing was on the wall for a long time.

It's just that we were kind of choosing to ignore it.

And now this fracturing of the international world order and in particular, the idea of multilateralism in health has kind of forced drastic change on the global health world.
