Gabriel House fire

Heavenly Father, as we gather this evening in gratitude in the presence of our Fall River Fire Department, our Chief Bacon, Mayor Coogan, Governor Haley, and in the presence of our award recipients and their families.

As we honor the dedication and the courage and selfishness of our firefighters in recognition of their work of the Gabriel House Fire 15 months ago.

Thank you for calling these men and women to a life of service.

and for placing within them the heart to stand the gap when danger calls.

And of course, to my colleagues in the legislature who have your back, Representative Viola, Representative Silva, Representative Ouellette, and Senator Rodericks is represented here as well.

And it takes partnership on all levels, so it's nice to see the city councilors here as well.

The Gabriel House fire was awful.

It was awful.
