Furness Abbey

A coffee shop in Barrow has experienced its toughest year, but believes it is stronger than ever as it celebrates its 18th anniversary.

Owned by Jackie Baxter, Abbey Mill Coffee Shop opened its stores in 2008 and has grown into a staple for visitors at Furness Abbey.

This month the team marked nearly two decades of serving customers, which has still been made possible thanks to loyal support.

They said, Abbey Mill began with an empty old cottage, a lot of ideas and absolutely no way of knowing what the next 18 years would bring.
