He's like, you couldn't recreate...

AI would never be able to create whatever... game developer Fumito Ueda himself will create in the future.
Asif KhanHOST
40:13
That's kind of the point, right? And I mentioned this at past episodes, like creative genius can't be replicated by AI, but you can take existing thing and make existing thing too, right? And that's why going back to the discussion about Odyssey and how they go from here, they could easily just make new game with Cappy.

Right? Yeah.

Ico is a third-person kind of action-adventure game with a lot of just beautiful atmosphere and beautiful kind of sun-bleached ruins that you're running around.

45:21
It's kind of a lonely game.

At many points of, in many iterations of this list, this game was top 10. you know earlier in one of the early earlier videos i talked about the week in which addison lent me bella gasol 3 and shadow of colossus and when i tell you my experience first playing shadow of colossus is one of the most special experiences i've had playing a video game in my life like not i didn't know what this game was when i booted it up i thought it was maybe going to be an action adventure game which i guess in a sense it kind of is but i thought it was gonna be maybe more rpg maybe more fantasy maybe more dialogue to go out in the world just me and my horse and this woman i'm trying to save to go out there and meet the first colossi face to face and be like oh snap all right i gotta take this thing out and to slowly come to understand that this is a slow progression of a an immaculate story right kind of minimal but it's minimal in such a beautiful way hey you're trying to save this person that you love and over the course of the game coming to realize that what you're doing to save this person might not be the most noble thing and seeing that reflected in the character itself think back to the kind of games that you're getting on the playstation 2 at the time child classes was so ahead of all the games that were coming out right it and we talked about video games being art and all this stuff but i would love to get into the brain of fumito ueda of if he realized what he was making as he was making it because I think this game preceded so many titles that would try to innovate, would try to tell amazing stories.

Like, a game I haven't gotten to is Edge of Abyss, which is a... from the X BL Nightmares developers that made it, like, this really cool-looking spooky third-person, um, uh, action game.
Patrick KlepekHOST
64:01
They're also doing Fumito Ueda's new game.
Patrick KlepekHOST

Hey, you're trying to save this person that you love, and over the course of the game, coming to realize that what you're doing to save this person might not be the most noble thing, and seeing that reflected in the character itself.

Shadow of Colossus was so ahead of all the games that were coming out, right? I think of games like Journey, I think of games like The- Inside that was earlier on this list are so many indie games that really try to push that boundary as far as what you can do with video games as a medium.
