And Sterling Bay is working with Justin Ishby on his plan.

As part of the property transition, a portion of the site's parking lot was sold to the Chicago Transit Authority to build an additional staircase and ramp for the nearby California CTA station.

Shaypak Partners, the developer known for leading the dramatic transformation of Fulton Market into a bustling commercial and entertainment hub, also acquired an adjacent property on Milwaukee Avenue earlier this spring.

This expansion is part of a broader push by grocery chains across the country.

Driven by rising foot traffic and steady sales, retailers are increasingly testing new storefront models in high-density areas.

So I was shocked when I saw this first story yesterday.

Michelin starred Everett in the Fulton Market District, which many people know and recognize from The Bear, is now facing allegations of sexual harassment, gender violence, and discrimination.

So what is

this all about? Yeah.

Next up is Pizzeria Gabo.

Pizzeria Gabo is a new pizzeria from Lettuce Entertain You in Chicago's West Loop in the Fulton Market space where Beatrix Market used to be.

Technically, this could fall under our restaurant section of the podcast, but I've already got one this episode.

So here we are.

Altogether, that would raise around $230 million.

I imagine that this is one where Alders potentially may carve out more caveats because, for example, one of the mayor's allies, Red Burnett, his ward is part of Fulton Market, and he's concerned what a 5% increase could mean for some of the clients in his ward.

I believe the mayor would have to get some form of city council approval to update this because last year's budget was supposed to keep this locked until 2028, for example.

That's a point they made.

Oh, my gosh.

And it's kind of like, characteristically, when people come to Fulton Market now, there is this abundance of food and beverage.

And many different chefs and many different restaurateurs have come to the neighborhood.

And yet, established in 2008 as one of the first restaurants, which is public and right.

and

really enjoy the city.

And I mean, you did that with Blackbird with the start of, you know, the West Loop and Fulton Market area becoming what it is today.

It was meat packing and that history behind it.
