明るさとかには慣れてるけど。

体が疲れてますよね。やっぱりそうですよね。ということなんですが、北米でね、初めてこの 8 月ということでライブされたんですけれども、あの、オーディエンスの反応というか、日本でね、フジロックでコンサートされて、中国とかでもね、されたと思うんですけど、いかがですか？違いなんかありましたか？今回。

まあそうですね、反応がやっぱ率直っていうのが非常に何か違うというか、まあありがたいというかですね、僕らはやりやすいですね。なんかこう、こっちがこう爆発する演奏すれば、向こうも爆発する歓声を上げてくれるって、結構まあ分かりやすいっていうかですね、やっぱりそうすると僕らもバンドも盛り上がって、もっとエモーショナルな演奏ができるようになるんで。はい。

そうなんですね。やっぱりちょっとやっぱりアメリカという土地柄、もうストレートにそのまま感じて、そのまま出すって感じが違う。もう少しやっぱ日本のお客さんは割と静かに聴いて、ちゃんと拍手するとこで拍手するみたいな感じのイメージなんですか？

I met Zach a couple of times once in Japan when I was over there with Ian Brown at the Fuji Festival.

And we got on good, you know, and I met him somewhere else.

Anyway, somebody couldn't make it, Steve White, Paul Weller's drummer.

He tells us how these charming men came together in 1995.

They started behind their incredible trip to the Smiths and Morrissey Convention in Los Angeles, and how they ended up playing the main stage at Japan's Fuji Rock Festival in front of 35,000 people.

We talk Johnny Marr, the painstaking process of recreating his distinctive guitar playing, the enduring appeal of the Smiths, and why the band's fans are among the most passionate you will find.

Gavin also gives his thoughts on Morrissey and Marr, the possibility of a Smiths reunion, and reveals the story behind the personal letter he received from Morrissey.

Even the girls had massive quips, you know, real rockabilly, um, kind of fan base.

So we did that for 10 years and that was amazing.

Um, And the next big gig we did, Morrissey was to headline the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan.

So that's like the equivalent of the Glastonbury Festival over in Japan.
