She was basically just like, you want this and you want it bad.
C
8:55Chris RuffGUEST
So like, let's figure out.
C
8:56Chris RuffGUEST
So essentially she got me in the door and then taught me, I would say she taught me how to market records fully and like really like, progressed my career and then i stayed within the warner system for 15 years i went from warner music to atlantic where i was lucky enough to work edge here and after the first album so like took that rise and then worked my way up to kind of running marketing there and i was always i'd always looked for the kind of route into like how do i make this a career and how do i like make myself stand out and in the uk at the time rock music and alternative music wasn't particularly hot so i was kind of just the rock and alternative guy that learned my job on the side where with zero pressure but kept delivering all these results of like number one records big singles big and Then I started working all the Fueled by Ramen stuff in the US, still living in the UK.
C
9:52Chris RuffGUEST
So I was working with the Paramore albums, the Slipknot albums, the Korn albums, all the fun stuff.

Well, I guess I just ask that because I think we grew up in an era of Spin Magazine and Rolling Stone, and looking at the Billboard charts in the back of the Rolling Stone with the, you know, oh, it's on Sub Pop or, oh, it's on Fueled by Ramen, and like, I like this kind of music.
C
40:03Chris FrascoGUEST

K

Well, you did get signed by Fueled by Ramen and they had so many incredible bands on that label, so many MySpace bands.
K
17:29Kelli WilliamsHOST

But then like, Fueled by Ramen was started by John Janik and this guy Vinny, who plays in Less Than Jake.
F
18:22Fred CimatoGUEST
And I could be wrong about this, but how memory serves it is that Vinny did not like us at all, did not, was not in favor of signing us.
