And the pool of rogue-lites that you're drawing from in 2014, really the, the big ones are, like, Binding of Isaac, FTL, Spelunky, right? Ma- there's probably a few more that I'm, I'm missing in there.
D
2:24DannyHOST
But all of the people that are making rogue-lites in this...
D

Oh, and, uh, Rogue Legacy.

But I could, I could go higher.
D
108:35DannyHOST
I'm just thinking like for our S tier games, is it really in this like canon of like I think these are the five greatest roguelites of all time? Maybe sans a couple that we haven't played yet.
D
108:48DannyHOST
Looking at like FTL I think maybe could get up there.
D

And I'm, I'm just not sure it is.

Oregon Trail, Keep Driving, 80 Days, Organ Trail
J
2:58JoeHOST
It is an interesting one because it does have these kind of loads and loads of random events and stuff.
J
3:03JoeHOST
And I think, one of the suggestions that you came up with of like a similar modern game was like FTL right which is you know you're kind of going in the same direction every game you're like doing a big journey and there's all these little story events and rather than being about like crawling through a dungeon and killing loads of stuff it's about kind of managing people and resources and all the stuff that happens along the way so definitely feels like there are yeah like modern games in this kind of like pool of run based games that maybe aren't like in any conscious way derived from it.
J
3:36JoeHOST
But you look at something like FTL and there's more Oregon Trail DNA in it than there is rogue DNA in it.
S
3:45ShenHOST
Was this originally actually an educational game? I thought that was a joke.
T
3:48TomHOST
No! So I can plant the seed here.

J
15:36JoeHOST
It's just the road is already set.
J

I mean, it did remind me of FTL and things like that because of that.
