Frontenac Arch Biosphere Reserve

I was like, but then I really liked it.

And now looking at, The Frontenac Biosphere, it's a totally different area.

You've got sort of a mixture of everything all tossed like a tossed salad.

And the only thing is there's ticks everywhere.

And they said, well, that's as close as we're going to come.

So they plan to cut through the territory, cut through the farms, the the private homes, the seasonal properties, beautiful lakes, rivers, the Heritage Rideau Canal, the Frontenac Arch Biosphere Reserve, it's a UNESCO recognized biosphere, but they're not even going to hold a public meeting in the community.

And so I undertook some efforts to connect with people in the community to hear from them, but I would say that it was certainly wanting the, the amount of consultation that seemed to really be more of a transmit function than a receive function on the part of Aalto and the government.

So, Aaron, when you hear that Michael, as a member of Parliament, was told that there was a consultation that was active and that actually none of his communities were included there, does that surprise you from what you've learned?

So maybe you can just touch a little bit about the environmental impacts and what that would mean to the local economy in terms of tourism.

Well, people come to my community to experience not just the history, but also the environment.

So I mentioned that the Frontenac Arch Biosphere has a UNESCO designation.

Because of the rare plants, insects, animals, that call it home, but also we have the UNESCO Rideau Canal that runs through the area.

And I'll give you one more, Steve.

And that was the Frontenac Arch Biosphere.

It is a UNESCO site, a World Heritage site, And through consultation with the Biosphere network and the importance of the work that it does and the environmental sensitivities, we have said, and we've committed because of the consultation, because of this engagement, that any of our infrastructure will stay away from the core and buffer areas within the Biosphere, which is critical, excuse me, which is critically important.

And we'll continue to engage.
