Friends University

I consider Dallas my spiritual father.

And currently, I'm the Dallas Willard Chair of Christian Spiritual Formation and the Executive Director of the Apprentice Institute for Christian Formation at Friends University in Wichita, Kansas.

The Apprentice Institute was inspired by Dallas.

I often tell people that, and we built it on his vision.

There's an answer to that question.

Why do people call Jesus Lord and not do what he said? There's an answer.

And people interested in formation in Christlikeness, and I'm so thankful that Friends University, under the leadership of Jim here, and others have actually taken this on as a serious academic issue.

There is an answer, and there is an answer to how we can be transformed into Christlikeness.

Green serves as football coach at Rose Hill High School, where he is dedicated to developing student-athletes both on and off the field.

His coaching background includes serving as a graduate assistant at St. Mary's University and spending two years coaching at Friends University, gaining valuable experience in athlete development and strength conditioning.

Coach Green also played a key role in establishing the powerlifting program at Mays South High School, helping create opportunities for students to help build strength, confidence, and competitive success.

His commitment to education, athletics, and student development continues to make positive impact on the next generation of athletes and healthcare professionals.

So that was kind of my deal with St. Mary, and then I also moved.

So before that, I knew I was going to move down to Wichita, and it was fun getting my feet wet finally with coaching a group.

So then you go down to Friends University, and they're running a flex bone triple option, just pulling guards, smashing people up, kind of a brutal, see who's the toughest offense.

What was the difference when you got down there and what you were dealing with as opposed to when you left St. Mary's? Were you able to see how a conjugate influenced that? Were they running a conjugate? Did you have anything to do with the weight room? Or were you just a football coach? How did all that shake out?

Yeah, Coach, everyone wants to know, is, is this the start of, of an air raid offense at, at Friends University moving forward?

Yeah, you never know.

You know, it's, it's kind of funny.

You know, have, we had a vision for him, and, and it's starting to come into fruition.

And, you know, more than that, he's just an extremely hard worker, phenomenal kid.

What a great ambassador for Friends University, for Wichita, the Wichita area.

Could not be a better young man.

2021 Winfield High grad Braden Ledford finished his high school career as a three-time state medalist, including a runner-up performance in 2020 and a state title in 2019 when the Vikings finished as 4A state runners-up.

After three seasons at Ottawa University, including two trips to the NAIA Nationals, he transferred to Friends University.

Ledford battled injuries, but put it together when it counted most and earned All-American honors at the NAIA Nationals last spring in Park City.

Ledford has been named the 2026 KDBCA Senior College Wrestler of the Year for the NAIA men's category.

All right, so you came in today, NAIA National Tournament in March, the 25th seed, and knocked off number eight in round one and number nine in round two.

After a loss in the quarters, it took a win in sudden victory in the blood round to assure All-American status.

If there ever was a career-defining match, it's your blood round, where you won four to one in sudden victory, But due to a Friends University challenge of your opponent's second period takedown, it was removed.

Regulation ended at one to one.

It said he won seven state championships in eight years and then took it to St. Thomas Aquinas, I assume.

But it said there's also... um he has spread it out to friends university and wichita heights are all from his tree and those ocs have gone on to run the flex bone and it says uh friends is now running the nast one of the nastiest modern flex bone offices in the country so

i mean it's very popular in kansas i know that

yeah i mean it seems so there's several colleges and the guy won seven out of eight championships so there you go Um, the, you know, once again, it just proves that like the system, the system matters and having the umbrella matters.

So don't overthink it, guys.

I'm being

told Harding University, which is in Arkansas, but then Friends University in Kansas, and that's the tree.

Yeah.

K-State had 71 coming in third place.

Up next was Friends University with 61.

Then Highland Community College at 56.

Kansas had 51 on Friday.
