And, uh, one of them, one of the little melodies that he added is just dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun.

That is Frère Jacques.

Which, uh-

I think, I, I believe this was, well, this is Peter Colling writing about it in, uh, in his book, and I believe it came from him talking to Carney 'cause it's, you know, just the context.

But, uh, this was something that at the time Brian and Marilyn used to sing for the kids before they'd go to bed.

They'd sing Frère Jacques together, and then this turns up in the Fairytale.

You know, it's dun, dun, dun, dun, dun.

so where's the baby yep so where is baby now uh so over the next two weeks they explain uh there's going to be a series of three challenges uh get through those and you get a chance at final jam so this so we know this process is going to take like a fortnight minimum just pick the opener now Like, promoters are waiting to know, like, who do we put on the posters? Who's going on the marquee? Who are we advertising? Shouldn't we be selling tickets, surely? You can't do this if you're upcoming tour, right? If it's, like, if you know you're upcoming tour has happened.

It's the local music for minis group, and they'll be performing Frere Jacques on the recorder.

It's clear.

Well, all right.

You know, I initially...

I had just been, like, humming that little, uh, the cannon, you know, the Frère Jacques.

I was like, "Oh, that, that loops over it." And then as is sometimes the case, I researched the history of that song to try to, like, post-talk, find an excuse to include it.

That's pretty much all you did.

Frère Jacques, Claire Lalune, and baguettes.

And Expedition 33.

Um, so yes, you can only imagine how much music I am committing to memory at the moment.

Uh, Mahler's First Symphony is one of them, uh, one of the pieces, especially when he takes the Frère Jacques melody and he turns it into a minor key, um, in the first movement.

That's just wonderful.

So what I'm experiencing, therefore, is a kind of m- music-coded memory surfacing in my everyday life as I'm intensely focusing on a lot of classical music right now.
