French Hill

I think everyone has been assuming that the House Financial Services Committee race is pretty locked up either way.

Obviously, if the Republicans keep the House, then it would be French Hill, as it is right now.

But the thinking was Ranking Member Maxine Waters would not be challenged for a race if Democrats seize that chamber, and you had a scoop that says that may not be the case.

So can you take me inside what's going on there? Who may challenge her?

We'll see.

But if that's the case, is this something that comes back next year or just look completely different? I mean, how is the House Financial Services Committee Chairman Maxine Waters, for example, gonna triangulate that?

Yeah, it's a really good question, and French Hill, the current chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, he has said elsewhere that he doesn't think CLARITY is dead if it's a Democratic House.

He himself has worked very well with Waters this year.

Good Lord.

Also in the news, speaking of this Clarity Act, Representative French Hill says there may be enough votes to pass the Clarity Act.

Huge statement coming directly from the House Financial Services Chair.

Well, it looks like we've moved past the ethics provision.

Today, my guest is Congressman French Hill, who is the chair of the House Financial Services Committee and has served as a U.S. representative for Arkansas' second congressional district since 2015.

Earlier in his career, Chairman Hill was a staffer on the Senate Banking Committee, served in various economic policy roles at Treasury and in the White House during the George H.W. Bush administration, and was the CEO and chairman of the board at Delta Trust and Banking Corporation in Little Rock, Arkansas until its acquisition in 2014.

Then you have MAGA Republican Congress member French Hill of Arkansas.

I've got conflicting work stuff, he says.

I have a place I have to be that day and I just won't be able to make it to Dallas, Texas.

You should take a look at that switch.

On the Financial Services Committee, you know, the banking committees for the House, we have French Hill, the Republican from Arkansas, switching roles with Maxine Waters, the Democrat of California from the Los Angeles area.

Again, Elizabeth Warren and Tim Scott, the collaborated pretty nicely on the 21st Century Road to Housing Act.

But I think in general, given the House's ability to operate on a partisan basis, I would imagine that Paxine Waters will be a particular focus on affordable housing, given how challenging a situation Los Angeles has when it comes to affordable housing.

observe that I do find it interesting in the 21st century Road to Housing Act, the process of that legislation becoming law.

You know, in the Senate, you had Elizabeth Warren and Tim Scott working together, being in agreement.

And in the House, you had French Hill and Maxine Waters being in agreement.

But The House wasn't in agreement with the Senate and all the various matters obviously had to work through all of that.

Last week we had Attorney General Tim Griffin there.

We had Congressman French Hill there.

It's a place we haven't seen the governor yet.

Long time supporter.

And Joe Concha and Mark Simone will react to Democrat Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed's interview on Fox News last night, where he defended his push to bring socialist economic policies and wacky woke policies to Michiganders.
