Taiwan's National Day holiday got off to a busy start.

The Freeway Bureau is estimating one hundred and seven million vehicle kilometers of traffic on October tenth, about one point two times a normal day.

It is warning of eighteen sections prone to congestion, with National Freeway number five northbound likely jammed until midnight.

The holiday's first day already saw heavy traffic and accidents, including a five-car pileup on National Freeway number five that backed up traffic, according to EBC News.
