Freeport

We were getting on a fishing boat as a family.

As I'm getting off the train in Freeport, Long Island, I get a call from Sarah.

We had a last minute dropout.

It's today in Brooklyn.

But, you know, and it's funny, right, because, like, knowing all of this is, like...

Then I also have family in Long Island, Freeport to be exact, right? So I saw that side of Long Island that I would have never expected, right? So knowing that you was exposed to Bronx and Long Island, what were some of the things you had to unlearn as you got older because of the environment you grew up in?

So in the Bronx, it's a lot easier to get away with stuff.

So when we was running around in the Bronx as little kids and doing, you know, robbing taxi cabs or doing just stupid shit because we ain't, you know, we

So Jameek grew up as an only child with his father, John, in Freeport, Long Island.

He was also very close to his mother and everyone that knew Jameek knew him to be

What he eventually reported seeing stood far above him with horns and red eyes.

For this account, we traveled to Freeport on Long Island.

The witness, identified as R, said the encounter happened when he was seventeen, approximately twenty-five years before he submitted the account.

He regularly used a shortcut through a wooded, marshy area in Freeport.

Reaching it involved walking about twelve blocks.

Part of the route passed behind an old railroad station where there were no lights.

A story passed through generations about a creature on Broadway.

And so I've had quite a starting life.

And when I got done with that, I took a job as a deckhand up there in a town called Freeport, Long Island, very well known.

And I did some fishing up there in 1964 after I got out of the service.

I made a few bucks and I decided I'm going to come down here to Florida and hang around for a couple of weeks and go back and become a meat cutter.

A lot of guys are, but I'm not one of those guys.

So I said, I'm going to buy a brand new Chevrolet Impala convertible and I'm going to jump in and come down here.

I'm sitting in a place called the Poot Deck Bar in Freeport.

For you folks that are familiar with Freeport, you know the Poot Deck Bar.
