Louis Rees-ZammitHOST
20:21
Right, Marcus, we got a question from a fan saying, it all kicked off between Leicester and Northampton with multiple England players involved.
Louis Rees-ZammitHOST
20:31
In particular, Henry Pollock, Oli Chessham and Freddie Stewart.
Louis Rees-ZammitHOST
20:35
What's it like when something like this happens before camp? Is it awkward or is there banter between the players?
Marcus SmithHOST
20:43
I think there would have been a bit of anxiety coming in, obviously, because... we all knew we were meeting on the Sunday night.
Mike BrownGUEST
26:55
He's a 10 slash 15.
Mike BrownGUEST
26:56
He was playing 15 for them because their main 15, Freddie Stewart, who is an England player, was away with England at the time.
Mike BrownGUEST
27:03
I was watching this game and Freddie Burns went down like he'd been shot, like his knee had absolutely been blown out.
Mike BrownGUEST
27:11
Went off the pitch.
Ben ColesHOST
33:13
I did enjoy Steve Orthogon Tuesday because naturally he was asked about Olly Chesson versus Henry Pollock.
Ben ColesHOST
33:19
I actually think the main culprit there, by the way, if you want to pick someone out, is Freddie Stewart shoving Pollock up the steps.
Ben ColesHOST
33:26
Everybody, no one's talking about Freddie Stewart.
Ben ColesHOST
33:28
Everyone's like, oh yeah, Jessamyn Pollock, like Stewart's like, anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed all of it.
Ben ColesHOST
33:32
So feed me more.
Adam WhittyHOST
28:50
Yeah.
Adam WhittyHOST
28:50
But then you wonder, you're not resting Joe Hayes and Olly Chesham, who are definitely going to start, are you? You're not resting Freddie Stewart, who might.
Adam WhittyHOST
28:56
You're not resting Ellis Gens and the Bristol team.
Adam WhittyHOST
28:58
And it's an interesting call.
Steve BorthwickGUEST
26:46
So there is, without question, a period this weekend where I'll be hoping that the players come through their games, OK? And then we'll have a great test week next week.
Chris JonesHOST
26:55
What did you make of the Leicester-Northampton game? Just picking that one out because to your point there, you had guys like Oli Chessham and Henry Pollock and Freddie Stewart and Tommy Freeman eyeball to eyeball the next night they're having dinner together in England camp.
Chris JonesHOST
27:07
How is everything between those guys? Would you have known from seeing them interact in camp that they'd been at each other's throats 24 hours earlier?
Steve BorthwickGUEST
27:14
In so many ways, I think if you tried to explain this to somebody who didn't know the ins and outs of rugby and being in the England environment, I think it would be very hard to explain.
Tom VarndellPANELIST
8:05
He just grabbed hold of Pollock and just shook him around a little bit and told him to get back in his box.
Tom VarndellPANELIST
8:09
And the same with Freddie Stewart as well.
Tom VarndellPANELIST
8:11
He just told him, we waved him off, go back up the stairs, even when he tried to do his shoelaces up.
Tom VarndellPANELIST
8:15
It was all very, very controlled and just the right amount of aggression.
Andy GoodeHOST
9:00
And yeah, we saw that the weekend and we saw some things that they're talking about from the other side as well.
Andy GoodeHOST
9:06
Freddie Stewart came out, didn't he? Post-match
RobPANELIST
9:08
and said
Jim HamiltonHOST
9:08
how much he loves it.
Jim HamiltonHOST
9:14
When you talk about how much derbies mean to players, watching Leicester and how they conducted themselves, we could talk about all the stuff as they were walking in at half-time.
Jim HamiltonHOST
9:23
We will do.
Jim HamiltonHOST
9:25
But Freddie Stewart's comments after the match about just, this is the
Andy GoodeHOST
9:28
game.
Ryan WilsonHOST
16:11
The atmosphere at Walford Road looked ridiculous.
Ryan WilsonHOST
16:15
And you could hear Freddie Stewart talking afterwards.
Ryan WilsonHOST
16:17
He lost his voice and how much it meant to him growing up watching that club.
Ryan WilsonHOST
16:20
And that's also a big old derby.
DaveHOST
46:00
Really deserved the four tries.
RoryHOST
46:03
Just one on Freddie Stewart coming into some really good form this season.
DaveHOST
46:06
Yeah, yeah.
RoryHOST
46:06
Really good.
RoryHOST
46:07
Tried and played very well in this game.
DaveHOST
46:09
It's another thing that we always seem to start the season off saying how well Freddie Stewart goes and then he kind of fades away.
DaveHOST
46:14
So this season, hopefully he sticks to it and doesn't fade away because it seems every time he goes away of England and then doesn't get selected, his confidence drops.
DaveHOST
46:23
Yeah.
Mick LynamHOST
11:42
You're going to see some lad who's probably working as a dentist or something coming up now to play hooker.
Mick LynamHOST
11:47
absolutely crazy uh you know Dobson said that you know he had he had a contingency sheet obviously covered losing two hookers but never three like that's that's mental you have to find a short-term place and I'd I'd wonder now will they actually look elsewhere to look out to bring someone in and just hope to god they're good or will they go down uh the likes I remember it was at Gloucester last year had a lad who was uh I think it was a solicitor or a banker had to come in and play a hooker I'm nearly sure I had to dig that off now uh but absolutely crazy there you'd never see that uh all their hookers are gone now three of them obviously lost the injury there all in one game and then Coltsdale losing that red card appeal just mental mental and then the last thing there Henry Pollock my god he is after brewing up never mind the pun with Storm Chloe brewing up a storm he if you've seen it an absolute brawl there on the halftime whistle it started when Adam Radwan there pushed Alex Mitchell and then Pollock just squared off to his opponents and most of them of which he plays in the English squad with but the row which was the most interesting part followed on up the stairs into the changing rooms so I think Pollock tried to be smart and he was standing in front of them pulled up his socks and held up loads of players and then was pushed by Freddie Stewart and Chesson just bringing up a whole lot again then So absolutely crazy.
Mick LynamHOST
13:08
I'd implore you to go and watch the little snippet of that because the camera followed him up the whole way.
Mick LynamHOST
13:13
Absolutely mental.
