K'gari

My son was with my dad.

My mum was on a whale boat at the back of Fraser Island somewhere.

And so it was all this fragmented.

I remember saying to dad on the phone, one more, and I'm in the car on the way home after I saw the second one hit.

Probably not in our lifetime.

Um, it went to Fraser Island, um, or Kigari.

And, uh, we were there for 10 days and we saw seven other cars.

That's it.

Right.

Where do you travel? Where have you been travelling? Fraser Island.

Fraser Island we went a couple of times.

Yeah, I mean, anything that was close.

Yeah.

So it'd

be Fraser Island and Cania Gorge and just areas around where we are.

Yeah.

So that's a watch point.

The other watch point is, uh, in the southeast, uh, from Wednesday, uh, we see the, uh, the, the, uh, pulse of, uh, southerly winds and, uh, seas and swell, uh, move into the southeast, uh, really south of K'gari, uh, on Thursday, or late Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and getting some strong wind warnings.

So those are the two main watch points, uh, for the next, uh, week, uh, for Queensland.

So it sounds like it's been pretty dry across much of Queensland, but has there been any rain over the weekend?

Turtles and supermen are out.

But that was a launching spot for us where we headed over to Fraser Island and that was pretty amazing really.

We didn't know what to expect.

We looked at the map, we pulled the map out and put on the bonnet and roused it and responded, let's go here.

It was very, very accessible.

So you drove

up a tar road on Fraser Island, did you, boys?

Yes, we booked it for 10.30, the ferry, and we were on the hop to get there.

So we, we've done the Clarence River.

We did, uh, Fraser Island.

They got Great, Great Keppel Island.

Yeah.

... um, update regarding the wave.

"I just came back from Fraser Island, and I'd like to report the wave is 60% alive and 40% dead.

Most people I chucked a hand up to waved back, and there was a small amount, better than nothing, that initiated the wave with me."
