Question 19 on this podcast, as always, is Still Alive Or Not So Much.

Today, Byron has sent in Frankie Avalon, star of the cheesy beach movies from the 1960s, and a lot of people will remember him in Grease playing the teen angel who sings Beauty School Dropout.

Is Frankie Avalon still alive or not so much? He is still alive, or at least he was when I recorded this episode on the 3rd of September.

As at today's date, he's still alive.

He's 85.

Why Frankie Avalon? Why did I play it? Well, kind of went with the other songs.

Okay, let's jump up just about a decade and do a couple of talking kind of sort of things.

So they brought in up-and-coming new stars to sing for Buddy.

For example, Bobby V, who sang Take Good Care of My Baby, and then Frankie Avalon, who sang Venus.

But I think most of us remember him for singing Beauty's Cool Dropout in Greece, among other songs.

Such a good one.

It's so horrible.

Also, I remember I'm just having a recovered memory of watching Grease and my mother going, that's Frankie Avalon.

And all of a sudden, this terrible show that was inappropriate for her child to watch was OK. Yeah.

So we got songs from the Platters.

We got Frankie Avalon, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Dion, Little Richard, Joe Turner, the Everly Brothers, Bobby Darin, Carl Perkins, and a whole bunch more.
