Frank Ticheli

My favorite is, it's hard, it's Sophie's choice for me, but there's a piece, Amazing Grace.

It's an adaptation of Amazing Grace by Frank Ticheli.

And it just, it moves me every time.

I've played it a lot, but it moves me every time.

And, and so I think it's important that the, this comes back to literature selection and that those pieces that you can internalize.

This Frank Ticheli talks about this internalizing the music all the time, and I know you've got a special relationship with him.

And, and this whole idea of, of making sure that whatever we are doing, it's something that can really be internalized, but yet you're gonna wanna internalize it over and over again to grow

growAbsolutely.

We're still addressing things, but the, the root, the root of it all comes from a very different place.

And, and that is what I take away from all of that, that you certainly want things to be in time, and as a, and as an educator, when you're on the podium, you're gonna make sure things are in time.

But like Frank Ticheli said, "Don't just play a note short because it's a staccato.

Play a note short because it's dancing.
