Yeah, like, when was the last time you listened to an album on repeat? It's hard with so much choice.

Right, I remember just playing Asterisk Channel Orange Asterisk by Frank Ocean for days, but now I feel rushed to check everything out.

That nostalgia is real.

There's something about immersing yourself in a single artist's world that's so different from today.

And maybe that's a symptom of like post-COVID stuff or whatever.

But like, you know, the duty of care from a record label now arguably should be more clear and... important than ever i think because we live in a very different age being an artist is a very different thing now i actually spoke about this on the album club the frank ocean album club about how like what did it like you look at frank ocean right and you like comparing frank ocean to lowly young seems kind of mad here but anyway um he just kind of does his own thing and he kind of doesn't really get involved with the record label and it's all in pursuit of like him trying to live in a world where he can be an artist on his own terms I think with like you say the sharp rise to success of something like that where all of a sudden you get this like a viral hit like Messi and you're presented with all of these opportunities it's very difficult to say no to those opportunities as someone who wants to do this thing as something you do for the rest of your life but with that kind of sharp rise there's probably some shortcuts being taken I can't say for certain what those shortcuts are But certainly one thing that's left by the wayside is considering the health and well-being of the artists involved and putting them on these insane schedules where they're flying seven days a week to try and get to all these different countries with barely any rest.

When you are doing something for the day, especially when your work is at night time and your work is involved in a gig atmosphere and there's bars and there's... you know, the nighttime economy.

Like, you know, what do you do after you finish a show at 11 p.m.? Like, do you go to a bar? Yeah, probably.

I do the same.

And this week I did a bloody feature length, didn't I? Of course I did, because it was the 10 year anniversary of Frank Ocean's Blonde and Endless album.

So I had to do a bit of a double whammy, didn't I? I think it could be the longest album club I've done.

It's clocking in at like an hour and 20 something.

A lot of people seem to kind of be going down the clean living route and like seem to be, there's a lot more people, younger people in particular, who are like not drinking, not into kind of clubbing and stuff.

Probably like in terms of albums that I'm, I can't pick one song, but like albums I'm always re-listening to is like Freudian by Daniel Caesar, Blonde by Frank Ocean, and... not this isn't an album but just a song molasses by hiatus coyote yeah i always go back to uh eternal sunshine the song by ariana grande nasty by ariana grande um yeah

i think that's it i've also been listening to her the the one that she just released the music for uh i can't remember the song name I can't remember the song.

She just released the music video for it, too.
