Tell us a little bit more about the Curve Foundation.

Well, I can start with the story of Curve magazine and how I didn't see any lesbian representation around me.

And I thought somebody should start a lesbian magazine, a handy little guide to show us, you know, how to dress and what to do to fit in or better yet to what to avoid so that we really stuck out and didn't fit in with our fellow sisters.

So I kept saying somebody should do that.

And then I realized, oh, wait, if you don't... take action and just wait for somebody else to do something nothing's gonna ever happen so at 22 years old i got the idea to start curve magazine that was 35 years ago and uh went through a lot of ups and downs for sure in fact i got the money to start the magazine through cashing out a bunch of credit cards and going to the horse races
