Now the basic operation here is the electric motor can drive the transmission, and you're now in EV mode, and then it also can start the engine and then the engine can drive the transmission directly or they both can drive the transmission it is not the highest of efficiency of hybrid systems like if you put an ECVT but the reason they did that is this system is actually capable of towing because you have an actual eight-speed transmission behind it So it does make more power because now you have the same powerful engine and electric motor behind it.
