Foundry model

The industry grows to the point because if you can divide the work into a more precise way, and then if somebody focuses on a certain area, they, generally speaking, have more focus and more specialty.

Actually, I consider foundry model actually start from the TSMC is actually called dedicated foundry.

But the foundry model started much earlier than TSMC.

TSMC started in 1986.

In the U.S., when I worked in the U.S., the company, every company, at least some of the companies, like HP, we had a foundry model.

But the part of things we do foundry because the fab cannot fill all days.

So there are some empty space, empty capacity during the downturn.

So we can use that extra capacity to do foundry for other small company.
