Fort McPherson

deserves a lot of credit for the boom in the film and TV industry here.

Because once he purchased the land there at Fort McPherson and put up those sound stages, things started really booming.

And now there's assembly studios.

There's Eagle Rock Studios.

Mm-hmm.

But he went way big when he bought 330 acres at Fort McPherson.

You remember that?

Oh, yeah.

Union Major General James Bird's Eye McPherson, uh, was actually killed in, in the Battle of Atlanta.

He was the highest ranking officer to be killed, and they thought that that would be a great tribute to him to name that base after him.

So it's been Fort McPherson since 1864.

Mm-hmm.

But now, without a car, I was absolutely, truly homeless.

So I heard about VHCRRC down in Fort McPherson.

And I made my way down there and said probably the most humiliating, humbling words that have ever come out of my mouth.

I'm Tyler Bowser.
