Fort De Soto Park

and stuff like that, and I just want to keep bending the rod.

So I did go up and went around Fort DeSoto.

I'm looking for that picnic table somebody keeps talking about.

Eased around, eased around, and I didn't see a whole lot of course we had.

Man, the snook bite has been crazy around John's Pass.

I would imagine Fort DeSoto has to be covered up.

I haven't seen them in Fort DeSoto very good.

They, uh, tend to actually migrate the opposite direction.

So right now our banded snowy plovers that have just left Sanibel are up around Fort DeSoto, um, in Pinellas County.

And what goes into a typical nesting season? So we know that the birds are coming back at a certain time of year.

I hear a lot about our turtle patrols and the amount of man hours that need to be on the beaches for watching for sea turtles, whether they're crawling, false crawling, nesting, putting up grates.

We've had some hellacious thunderstorms this week.

In fact, one young man got killed yesterday out on the water over by Fort DeSoto.

He was riding around in a jet ski right in the middle of a thunderstorm and got zapped.

People don't realize what this is.

I don't believe it was Florida.

Now, there was a, in, uh, DeSot- uh, was it DeSoto? Um, Fort DeSoto, there was a guy, and I feel bad.

This is a horrible story.

Th- this one, he doesn't live.

Uh, Fort DeSoto, it's a guy on a, a WaveRunner.

Uh, he's got four kids and a wife.

He, he, look...

How is it that lightning can strike-

Stephen Matheson of Utah was jet skiing on Saturday.

Fort DeSoto when he was hit by lightning.

He leaves behind a wife and four kids, and a GoFundMe page was set up to help with the cost of getting his body back home.

The woman who started the page says Matheson was a wonderful man, devoted husband and loving father, and his family was his greatest joy.

So I guess I would say that.

Uh, when I go down to Florida there's this one park, Fort De Soto Park, and there's, um, a reddish egret and a little blue heron that hang around in a pool and will come within, like, two feet of, two feet of people.

Mm-hmm.

It's really cool.

And so...

Well, they even got it at Fort De Soto.

Hopefully there's not a line there and stuff, but I, I generally don't go by myself anymore.

I blew a tire one time coming back from a charter down at Fort De Soto.

I blew a tire 200 feet from getting on the Howard Franklin, on the bridge-

I know Mike was talking about seeing schools.

Have you or your guys been seeing any schools up in the Bay, or is it all out along, uh, Fort Desoto's each, east beach still? [laughs]

There have been a lot of, I wouldn't say, I haven't heard anybody say anything about schooling fish, but I know people have been catching a lot of fish.
