They won't work any... non-rostered overtime and they will basically just perform a work to rule.

A very similar announcement came yesterday from Forsa in its health sector.

They said that its health members, again from the same time frame from the end of September, would engage in a work to rule that would involve staff refusing to do any additional duties out of their normal work.

And this, Katie, is all part of the campaign of action that is being launched by the trade unions to show their dissatisfaction with the government over the public sector pay deal.

And that is exactly what they're doing.

So you mentioned the INMO there.

We've mentioned Forsa.

We've mentioned SIP2.

Where is the strategy? The public sector unions are not happy with this as well, Áine, because as they rightly say, many of their members depend on public transport to get to and from their places of work.

We also now have strike action this week been authorised by members of CIP2 and FORSA.

So the vast majority of public sector workers are prepared to go on strike.

The reason being the pay deal that they had concluded at the end of June And as yet, there are no new talks with their employer in relation to pay increases.

They are looking for what they want and they are not saying no, they're not making compromises and they're absolutely right.

So there looks like there could be a deal on the table for secretaries and caretakers and well done, I have to say, to ForSA for their work.

The continuing argument over the maths curriculum is in the papers as well today.

Workers are employed in health, local government and state agencies.

There could be similar moves tomorrow from Forsa, the country's biggest trade union, which is voting over the idea of pursuing industrial action.

Pat, as a trade union man who's also had to wield the purse strings at pretty grim times today, What do you make of the government's failure to at least try to open public sector pay talks or its attitude that social partnership is dead now?

It's a ritual that has to be gone through.
