And I look at the name badge, and it was Forry Ackerman.

And did you know that name already as a fan? Of course I knew the name, yes.

The explanation for that being that one head would be male and the other female, and that a fan comes in any age from about 10 years old, such as I was when I started, to, well, we have one gentleman in our local club who was 96 years old.

And of course there is a slight inbred quality to science fiction.

I believe when I was around 15 years old or so in high school, I had something like 117 correspondents at that time, young boys and girls that I was writing to all around the world about science fiction.
