Now, you have to make sure you tell your tax preparer that part of your RMD on that 1099R was a qualified charitable distributions because custodians don't have to note that on the tax forms.

So there may be no way that your accountant is going to know that 10,000 of the 30,000 of your distribution is a QCD unless you tell them.

And then they'll deal with it on the tax program.
