Prior to joining RLG, she was in the entertainment group at Frankfurt, Kernett, Klein & Sells in New York, and in the mergers and acquisitions group at Paul Weiss, Rifkin, Wharton & Garrison, also in New York.

She receives her JD from Fordham University School of Law and her BS in finance and marketing from the University of Virginia.

She is super proud of her family, Joe, Grace, and Waffles.

It's 630 in the morning, just down the street from Fordham Law School, the 155th and 8th Avenue, close to my apartment, dropping off dry cleaning.

And as I step onto the sidewalk, somebody behind me says, are you Thomas Covey Harden, my full name? And the only person ever who used my full name was my mother back in Georgia when I was in trouble.

And it wasn't my mom.

So Chris, uh, I want to toss to you because the, again, I, I want to mention this, this other bell that's being rung for the thousands that died.

Right.

In recent polls, about half of Americans have said that ICE should be abolished, and more people have been calling for DHS to be reformed, including those who previously led the agency.

Two former DHS secretaries, Jeh Johnson and Michael Chertoff, have said that the department that they once led has, quote, "gotten off-track." Joining me now is Ken Dilanian, MSNBC Now justice and intelligence reporter, and Karen Greenberg, director of the Center on National Security at the Fordham University School of Law.

With that in mind, here's Hope Guzzel.

Hope told her story at a final share after a three-day Moth workshop with Fordham Law students learning to tell their own stories so they can better tell the stories of others.

Here's Hope.

In June of 2024, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer, which was really inconvenient because I was supposed to be starting law school in August.

[cheers] [upbeat music]

That was Hope Guzzol.

Hope is originally from Tampa, Florida and is in her third year of Fordham Law.

She's excited to share that her treatment is wrapping up very soon.

Also, too, listen, a place near and dear to my heart for many reasons, Fordham University.

So my Uncle Joe was a professor at Fordham Law and acting dean for a while as well at Fordham Law.

And I, although I transferred, did attend Fordham University, Rose Hill, for two years and was on WFUV, and that's where I got my love of broadcasting.

And

University of Pennsylvania grad Erin Piacente, 32, of Chester, New Jersey, posted a touching photo only four days before her murder of herself smiling broadly while holding her infant and standing with her husband and wrote how happy she was, the New York Times reported.

Piacente, also a Fordham Law School graduate who ended up working for Bank of America, said in the post that she was grateful for getting five months off to care for a new daughter, according to the outlet.

She noted that the baby had been recently baptized and how she and her husband, who she had just celebrated a second wedding anniversary with, had been traveling around, including the Long Beach, New Jersey, Maine, and Rhode Island, unquote.

So here you have someone who basically did everything right.

We appreciate Darren's work.

uh you know service to this great country and to new york city so let me just tell you if i may because this really gets me crazy uh and forgive me and and then i'll try to move on but it just upsets me when this poor girl gets killed for no reason at all in new york city and then you know when you have your kid imagine if your kid you know she's she does well in school and then you're working so hard to take care of it and she's your baby and then she graduates from the university of pennsylvania Just in 2016, right? And then she goes on to Fordham Law School in 2021, right? And now she's, then also, mom, dad, I got a job at Bank of America.

I'm a vice president.

And walking down the street and this lovingly, grotesque human starts going on a killing spree.
