I mean, the whole thing with his image was that He went for that sort of Mr. Slick debonair thing, particularly when he became more of a solo artist.
Mark PowellGUEST
15:24
Obviously, early rocks, he was Anthony Price, wasn't it? But when he became, you know, like, doing all his 30s stuff, For Your Pleasure and all that.
Mark PowellGUEST
15:32
Oh, yeah, that stuff, yeah.
Mark PowellGUEST
15:33
It was all very 30s.
Ivar HamiltonHOST

And he got his information all correct.
Ivar HamiltonHOST
79:10
And we're on the eve of a 50, I think it's 55th anniversary of For Your Pleasure, the second Roxy Music album.
Ivar HamiltonHOST
79:21
There's a big reissue coming, and that album came out just a couple of months, well, within the calendar year of the first one.
Ivar HamiltonHOST
79:30
I think it was eight months after the first one, that second record came out, too.
Marco PirroniGUEST
19:14
It was totally, I was led to the King's Road via Andy Mackay because he had that Teddy Boy look.
Marco PirroniGUEST
19:20
And, you know, he had those glitter creepers on For Your Pleasure.
Marco PirroniGUEST
19:24
And so I wasn't really a fan of rock and roll.
Marco PirroniGUEST
19:28
I didn't like Little Richard.

Some things get me excited.

I thought, you know, I was talking to my mate Adrian, who's older than me, so it's like, you know, the old... mates have lunch together and moan about things and he was saying that he said I don't get excited about anything even things that used to make me really excited I don't get excited anymore and I said no and I was thinking do I and I thought yeah I do I still do get excited but not as much as I used to but then again on the other side of the coin I don't get as worried as I used to I used to kind of have things preying on my mind and kind of think oh god I can't see what about what am I going to do about that or and now I don't care anymore I just it just came along as I got older I thought well what are they going to do to me you know nothing you know and you know if I if my tax is late then I pay a fine and if my car doesn't work I hire one and you know it's like all the things that used to really worry me don't worry me anymore so that's good you know um yeah that's that's where i am i think adrian's neither worried nor excited i think he just he just goes around in a kind of state of kind of temperance kind of all rightness yeah i don't think there's such a word but that's what he's like anyhow i better play some music instead of talking complete garbage to you um right i'm going to start with an instrumental as i usually do and this is off a library album it's a a library album which came out on the DeWolf label.
Nick SalomanHOST
2:15
And the DeWolf label did just session men making instrumentals and a few things with vocals, but mostly instrumentals, music in the 60s and 70s for TV and film and all that kind of stuff.
Nick SalomanHOST
2:32
And there's one that I picked up some time ago on the DeWolf label, which is called Ruffle.

7 MINS LATER

The pretty things there with talking about the good times.
Nick SalomanHOST
9:29
A single from 1968, I think, came out on Columbia Records, I'm pretty sure, yeah, in 68.
Nick SalomanHOST
9:39
And it's a non-album.
Nick SalomanHOST
9:41
track that both the sides are brilliant the other side is called walking through my dreams and neither of them featured on an album which is like they had a little period i think in 67 68 when they were doing some really brilliant stuff and they put the remarkable sf sorrow album out But the two singles, The Defecting Grey and Talking About the Good Times came out and neither of them were on any albums and they really should have been because they are standout tracks.
