There was also... a candidate for the russian state duma in their current ongoing election which apparently he went and visited the factory that is run by him now how this actually impacts the election is guess suvarnavara has tried to kind of do this balancing act where They have made stances on most of the issues that are traditional in identity politics that caters to the primarily Russian-speaking part of Latvia's population, which, you know, very much goes off of issues of language, you know, connections with Russia.

But they've taken much softer stances than the Stabilitate party, which, you know— Their leader is currently in Belarus.

And I think definitely they can use the messaging as, look, this is so unfair.

This information coming out when it did is purely political by a rival politician from another party.

Now they have very visibly a member who is making these types of posts.

And when it comes to the National Alliance's electorate, they have other choices.

When it comes to Suvarna Navarra, you know, if you are the kind of person who's going to vote for Suvarna Ravara, generally, you know, you might vote for Stabilitate, you might vote for Latvia in first place.

But with the National Alliance, there's many other parties that have more or less similar positions as them on a lot of different issues.

Now, the party that came in fifth place out of the vote in the 2022 election was a new party and has been probably the most controversial political party in Latvia for the last four years.

That is Stabilitate, with an exclamation point, or Stabilitate.

For stability! Exclamation point.

That is a party which many of you might associate with one Alexei Zrothikov, who is someone we've talked about a lot on the show for his various scandals and outbursts and currently is in exile in Belarus.

um there's more kind of um in paragraph form narrative form but uh definitely um development developing the economy that is the first thing that they mention and then um security issues as well so we will have to see if they are able to cross that barrier and make it into parliament then the party after that was harmony or saskinia who also came very very very close to the five percent barrier In the election, they were at 4.8%, so very, very close.

Again, what really happened with them was their collapse of support when Nils Ushakovs, the previous mayor of Riga, went to European Parliament and was no longer the mayor of Riga anymore.

Their support was eaten away by a number of other parties, especially Stabilitate.

And this time around, they are still trying to capture back their support.
