Football West

Tell us, when did your kid make you

proud? Last night after this week of constantly, actually over two weeks, trying to to get into the state soccer team with Football West, the academy.

It was amazing.

It's my oldest son and to see him keep trying and going back, trying and trying and trying again.

Welcome back to the World Football Program on Radio Fremantle 107.9 FM.

Really looking forward to our next chat with our guest, Tommy Doleman, who's gonna be joining us, who is probably the voice a lot of you recognize from the Football West streams that yous catch on the weekend during the seasons, and he's also going to be broadcasting the A-League season as well for our sister station across the studio, Sport FM.

Tommy, welcome to the studio.

Morning, everybody.

A-as such, obviously they won that top four cup final against, um, Balcatta Etna, um, in the final with Janice Diama getting the only goal, and, um, certainly Sam Getty's side are a team with players in form.

So yeah, it's always good to see, um, players from, um, those sorts of sides obviously, um, who have had good campaigns represented, but also as well, there's a couple of players from Subiaco who are involved as well, so some reward for them as well after their highest ever finish in the NPL women's era.

Um, I think there's a couple of players as well from the Football West Academy program as well.

Um, the Daniela Santich is a, is a defender who's had a pretty good year as well, and I think there's another player as well who just, um, escapes my mind a little bit.

And then there's a couple of Country Week games, which I don't have too much information on.

These were just something that I saw on the Football West social media pages a little earlier in the week in terms of the promoting of the Country Week games.

But then the final game tomorrow is the Men's Amateur Cup final, which is being played between the aforementioned Miranda Emerald.

And Kelmscott Roos and Narranda, as we mentioned before, a chance to make their promotion winning season a memorable one by winning a trophy and winning the cup.

It might be.

I don't know enough about the country week schedule in full.

You'll probably have to find out from somebody from Football West about the ins and outs of all of that.

But I just know that there's some finals happening this weekend on the Sunday, a men's final and a women's final.
