It requires merging completely different tech stacks, corporate cultures, and compliance frameworks.

If the integration is botched, they will suffer from massive tech debt and customer churn, destroying the exact value they paid billions to acquire.

This is Grab's third major acquisition this year after Stash Financial and Foodpanda Taiwan.

I've seen it plenty on all those apps, right? And it's so expensive.

And I think the only time I used it was during the circuit breaker COVID period where you had to use your apps like Odol and stuff because not everything is being delivered on Grab or Foodpanda, right? But I'm a very budget person.

I only opt for delivery if I see it's $0.

I do want to ask though, what is your experience with island-wide delivery? Because mine is the 50-50, depending on which spot I get it from.

But Taiwan's government says it needs more time to look at a major business deal.

Singapore-based company Grab wants to buy Foodpanda's Taiwan business.

However, the Fair Trade Commission or FTC says it needs more time to decide whether the deal could hurt competition in Taiwan.

So what's the problem?

Customers wouldn't have many alternatives.

That's right, the same idea applies to food delivery platforms.
