Uh, so like Kai, he's a native to the land, but not the city, a- and he's a, you know, he's a teenager.

Versus Dietrich is from Fodlan, an entirely different land altogether, and he is a murder-hungry psychopath.

And you're, and you have access to different areas at different points in the game.

Yeah

... where's, uh, what is... 'Cause I, I know he's from Fodlan, Diedrich is.

Mm-hmm.

Um, where, how would you describe that connection to Fodlan coming off of Three Houses that you played earlier this year? Are we getting like a lot of lore from there, or is it just like he's from there and that's all we're getting? 'Cause I know he has the, um, the sword with the crest in it, and there's a lot there.

Uh, that's really what interests me is like the Three Houses connection with him.

Um-

I think both of them offer like different sets of lore and big combat.

Like Theodora, I'm probably getting more Daxian lore 'cause she's a queen of one of the kingdoms.

And you get to Leda's chapter, and you start that off, and it's like, "Oh no. Oh, this guy, this guy really did a bad thing, uh, in her storyline." And it kind of starts to change your perspective a little bit, and you're like, "Do I-- should I like this guy? I don't know." Um, so I think it's a, it's a really interesting balance they've struck in terms of the way they're doling the story out, um, [coughs] and in, you know, certain parts.

So, like, Dietrich, um, he comes from Fodlan, and Fodlan is the continent of Three Houses, and they obviously have a different history, uh, from the people of Dagda.

Um, and it's interesting to see kind of like the culture clash to some degree there.

But also, um, there's someone on his team called Fabio, who I think might be the best character in the game.

You mean like actual playable characters?

Yeah, I mean, you have a handful, maybe seven or eight guys on your team up front, and then you can, through building relationships and support levels and maybe doing the odd side quest, you can recruit further optional folks to your team for each of these campaigns.

and and and so but it feels a lot like three houses um other than now that in between time that's between the chapters has a lot more you can do like there are these dungeons there are like um uh There are these levels you can you can sort of go after supply drops.

It's kind of like the the time management supply collection stuff in three houses where there's all these different things you kind of can keep track of if you want.

This game did not review very

well, by the way.

The Arkham guys, I remember they had the team that proudly did the port of Arkham City to the Wii U. I believe they were like Canadian.

Oh, really? I don't know why I have that in my head.

Here we are in 2026, and we have got Fortunes Weave, which is set in the same world as Three Houses, and it is, it is set in a different empire or a different part of the globe.

It takes place in the Dagdan Empire, which is south of the Kingdom of Fodlan, which was where Three Houses was set.

Um, it's still narrated by Seteth, which I think is interesting.

You see...

Like, you hear his voice at the beginning, and you think, "Oh, okay, this is gonna be just like Three Houses." And then, no, it's just narrated by the same guy who actually is a character in the game, which is kind of interesting.

And, uh, so there are connections to Three Houses and to the lore of Fodlan, but we are in a new setting.

Uh, and mostly we're in the city of Dagzeon, I believe is the name, which is the imperial, uh, the seat of imperial power in the Dagdan Empire.

And people have come from all around the empire, uh, to compete in the Heroic Games, which are a sort of, you know, Olympics/Coliseum gladiat- gladiatorial combat trial, where we will crown one person the winner, and then the god, who is also kind of the mayor [laughs]

i didn't know that i i And I think I probably will just go ahead and finish Kai's part or route.

But Dietrich comes from Fodlan, which is the continent that Three Houses was on.

So I think that's one of the reasons why I'm... interested in him
