Yes, that's where I'm born and raised at, Flint, Michigan, my hometown.

Rest in peace to our boy, Eric Mays.

He said, where Rick and Smiley at? And we ended up in the same building, and I was friends with him until the end.

So big shout out to Flint.

So it is absolutely open to your research.

Find us, is there any of these within the context of the urban environment within Flint, Michigan, where this project is? If that is, that's great because then you can actually like, you know, tie it to the community.

If there isn't, or if there is, but you want to go and look for another one that is maybe cutting edge in the way that the architect kind of interpreted that particular type of building.

find that you know and so that's what i've been trying to encourage them is like you know find something that you know speaks to you about that type of building you know that that type of thing and then you know kind of dissect it with a whole bunch of other other like questions to ask about that building Yeah, or that building type.

And so it was really interesting that that's what it was.

And when Habitat actually bought the building and moved in, they really didn't do much to it other than, hey, we've got this big space, let's figure it out.

And so in the conversations with the director of Habitat for Flint, basically was just like, help me figure out what I can do with this building.

Like, you know, how do I use this building? Right.

Yes.

As a little girl from Flint, Michigan, who never thought she would be in this position, who never thought she would have these accolades and have this money and have all of these people knowing you.

When you think about being the face of women's boxing and people can argue.

They cannot

I have so many accolades that none of these other girls in boxing have.

And it's not because, oh, they just gave it to me.

Like I'm a dark skinned black woman from Flint, Michigan.

Nothing has come to me for free.

It's the 24th through the 26th.

in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, about the water crisis in Flint.

It has a neo-noir feel to it.

So we want to get into the details on that.

We're so excited to be here, to be in Pittsburgh.

Well, this kind of goes back to where I work at Uncommon Productions and our playwright, M.M. Haney, is from the Michigan area.

And I think when the Flint water crisis happened, she had family there.

And so this was a story that was personal to her.

You can find more details on all those stories at autonews.com. It's been 30 years since General Motors launched the EV1, widely considered the first modern electric vehicle.

GM gathered EV1 engineering alumni at Kettering University in Flint, Michigan, to mark the anniversary.

Our own John Irwin was there.

Among those, he spoke with Kettering University President Robert McMahon, Laurel Castiglione from the EV1 planning team, and Bob Purcell, former head of GM's Advanced Technology Vehicles Group.

I'm John Irwin, I'm a reporter with Automotive News.

We're here at Kettering University in Flint, Michigan, joined by dozens of former GM employees, current Kettering University students commemorating the 30th anniversary of the EV1.

You can see one of the very few EV1s still in existence behind me here.

So it's not like a child allowance like I described in other countries that goes to kids or teenagers, but it is a cash payment amount that people receive during pregnancy and then in the first year of life.

And it's active and covers all families in the city of Flint and six rural counties in Northern Michigan, in Kalamazoo and a set of other cities.

And we're finding really great effects on improved birth outcomes from that.

We're seeing reduced postpartum depression with this very sort of time constrained amount of cash transfer.

And we created a tremendous number of good jobs that because of union representation and also I think societal moves in positive directions, didn't have the terrible things that like manufacturing and if you go back to the teens or something, right, we, we put labor laws in place and then these became really stable jobs that were available to people who got through high school.

Um, but maybe weren't interested in going on for a four year degree.

And in fact, the jobs were so good that I think a lot of people thought, There was a period of time where, you know, if you lived in a place like Flint in 1960s, Flint, Michigan was one of the richest places in the entire country.

If you said, hey, I'm going to go to college, they might say, that's a crazy idea.

It's episode one.

It's going to be Flint.

It's going to be Flint.

And I don't mean the city in Michigan.

Okay, who's winning immunity? Purple or yellow?

Farmers use AM radio for weather forecasts, local information, and crop reports, while older Americans rely on it for local news and programming.

Now, I'm going to tell you right now, I worked at AM radio stations in Bad Axe, Saginaw, Frankenmuth, Flint, and Detroit.

And I did do crop reports in Badax.

Very, very important.
