Fleer

I finally pulled the trigger and bought one of those.

Cause I like you never had it, but had like, Oh, I had the, I have the Fleer.

I have the Donruss, have the score, the tops traded.

I like all the Griffey rookies, except for the main one, the big one, the, the most, you know, I mean, it's probably, it's, it's the, it's the, you think about some of the all time, uh, most heralded baseball cards is definitely in the top five.

And y- yet the population on the Fleer is, like, 20X.

Like if, if you're a Jordan, if you wanna buy a Jordan card, does your immediate thought go to, "I wanna buy a Thunder and Lightning," or, "I wanna buy a Fleer"? For, for a new collector getting in.

And I was living in South Jersey at the time.

And I went up to the Fleer booth.

And Fleer was about 10, 15 minutes away from where I lived at the time.

And I just asked around, you know, are you guys hiring someone? And a guy there gave me...

his business card was a guy named Jim Stefano.

Yeah.

Anyway, I eventually did get the job interview a couple of weeks later.

Other guy named Lloyd Pollack, who if you ever have any like old Fleer autographs or game jersey cards hanging around.

He just doesn't look like he was that great, but he just dominated.

And then the modern class, already chosen, 86 Fleer, Michael Jordan, 86-87.

Just an amazing, iconic card.

And I think that got the most votes.

The 61-62 Bill Russell, that is such a distant second to his 57-58 tops that I can't vote for that.

I collected 61-62 Fleer from the packs, but not as much.

And it wasn't because it was basketball.

Pro wrestling is full of scoundrels and assholes and idiots who did... and said terrible things.

I do not like Richard Fleer, but Ric Flair is an innovator who is potentially top five all time, you know? I mean, maybe number one in some people's eyes.

And I understand how that would happen, right? Absolutely.

He's not in my eyes anymore, but there was a time where I thought he was too.

Yeah, because unfortunately, Richard Fleer has gotten in the way of Richard Flair.

Bill came from Fleer, which was a trading card company.
