Matt TrumpetsHOST
49:26
The thing is, we've seen Ocon in this situation at Alpine.
Matt TrumpetsHOST
49:32
And did he, in fact, do anything to be dismissed in the middle of the weekend? No, actually, he saved their season in Brazil by almost beating Max Verstappen in an absolute deluge, one that Behrman happened to crash out of at a Haas, and then was given the choice by Briatore to either not race the final races so he could test with Haas the team he was going to, Or get the proper send-off from the French team that he had wanted to join and left Mercedes to join.
Matt TrumpetsHOST
50:01
And he chose to honor his new team.
Matt TrumpetsHOST
50:04
I just don't think, for all that people love to speculate, I just don't think he's so unprofessional as to have done anything remotely worth it.
Jawad YaqubHOST
28:15
That was because he wanted to do the post-season test with his new team Haas at the time.
Jawad YaqubHOST
28:20
And Flavio Briatore said, yeah, if you want to do that, you're basically... uh, finishing a race early, um, which is what ended up happening.
Jawad YaqubHOST
28:31
But for someone of, you know, who's gone through what Ocon has and the sacrifices that his family made to get him into karting and then racing as well, um, it's just so sad that, you know, his career has come undone in this manner that it is.
Jawad YaqubHOST
28:52
So, you know, I, I reckon he, will never be regarded as the the fastest driver or the most talented he might think he is but you know he still won a race you know he's had a couple of podiums but definitely not you know the the driver that i guess was hyped up to be uh back when he was test driver at mercedes when he got dropped from racing point but yeah i think it's just a shame that it's come undone that way
GHOST
27:03
On to Alpine.
GHOST
27:04
Yeah, I wouldn't want to be in a room with Flavio Briatore after that one.
GHOST
27:08
It was yet another race weekend.
GHOST
27:11
Double points were on offer.
MaritHOST
50:52
um yeah so i i remain i think it makes the most sense that racing bulls is the best of the rest the biggest headline however would have been alpine because of how much performance they lacked last year
MahamHOST
51:05
yeah i don't think anyone in the alpine uh organization would be wanting to relive what 2025 was like for them because there was a lot that was happening um i do have to just mention this there was a very brief moment on broadcast and i don't know whether everyone caught this because it was literally like half a second where they showed Flavio Briatore being in disbelief at how long Pierre Gasly's pit stop was and it was just incredibly amusing to me so I would highly recommend that if you weren't able to catch it on broadcast that you go and google it because it did it was particularly entertaining and obviously if you think about the fact that Pierre Gasly was the sole Alpine to actually finish the race because Franco Colapinto retired the car I think it just makes it all the more entertaining.
MahamHOST
51:48
I want to move on to now a range of questions all belonging to the back of the grid with the likes of Haas, Williams, Aston Martin and Cadillac.
MahamHOST
51:55
First and foremost, I want to talk about Haas because they look like they were set for a really good race.
Tony JohnsonHOST
11:57
So there's some interest there around how that relationship might be as well if he wants to buy in.
Michael LamonatoGUEST
12:04
yeah absolutely uh but it's worth noting in the interim that reno's didn't ditch its own engines hasn't it i mean this year no longer powered by reno and in fact reno's just sold its engine division completely or is about to sell it completely so to some extent that that would smooth things over the teams also run by flavio briatore who is who is in a sense a long-term render person but not reno the business if you like reno the f1 team and and they seem to get along well um but there is you're right there's a there would be a great irony in the fact that a company he railed for so long against and so contentiously against to the point where he renamed his engines after a watch sponsor instead of the renault company um he'd end up being a shareholder in that team be a remarkable turn of events but
Riccardo BallHOST
12:44
that's formula one yeah yeah and i just can't help but thinking with all this discussion that i'm sure the makers of drive to survive would just love it if christian came back into f1 Michael Lamonato, always great to talk to you, mate.
Riccardo BallHOST
12:57
Thank you very much for giving us your time on this Tuesday morning.
Hollywood KhanHOST

The brand was not being built beyond the paddock.
Hollywood KhanHOST
0:34
And the owners of Labatt understood that and they tasked me with the mission to go make that happen, you know, with Flavio Briatore.
Hollywood KhanHOST
0:43
So I'm standing in the paddocks with Flavio Briatore after the race in Montreal, the Canadian Grand Prix.
Hollywood KhanHOST
0:49
It wasn't like really fancy like it is now.
Hollywood KhanHOST
0:51
You know, the cook is right there behind the garage cooking pasta.
Hollywood KhanHOST
1:57
That's what Michael Polley was talking to her about.
Hollywood KhanHOST
2:00
So.
Hollywood KhanHOST
2:01
Gucci Verum, I created because of Flavio Briatore.
Mark HughesGUEST
28:21
Alonso and Todt had shook on it.
Mark HughesGUEST
28:24
And then Alonso went back on that and signed up with Flavio Briatore.
Mark HughesGUEST
28:29
So Todd had a problem with Alonso.
Mark HughesGUEST
28:31
And this was at the point when Alonso
Edd StrawHOST
28:32
was transitioning from Adrian Campos management to Flavio Briatore, wasn't it? And actually, probably a good decision from Alonso.
Mark HughesGUEST
28:39
Yeah, absolutely.
Mark HughesGUEST
28:41
So, one of them was saying, okay, Raikkonen or Alonso? And Todd said, Raikkonen.
LawVSHOST
10:44
And unfortunately, the external drivers market isn't exactly rolling out the red carpet for the Kiwi because, I mean, the top four teams right now, well, they're essentially locked out.
LawVSHOST
10:53
I mean, Alpine's a consideration because they've flirted with many drivers over the last couple of years since Flavio Briatore came back to the fold.
LawVSHOST
11:00
But quite frankly, Franco Colapinto will most likely keep his seat for 2028 because not only is he steadily improving with each passing weekend, through thick and thin, must be real, but he's also got a lot of commercial opportunities to hand to this team for them to really sell themselves up as a more premium operation rather than just a hatchet job, which is what we saw basically in 2025.
LawVSHOST
11:22
Let's just say there is plenty of appeal for the Argentine within the team, and you can forget the likes of Audi, because Bortoletto, they've signed up with the Brazilian for years and years and years, they basically have no limit on his contract, And as for the other guy, Hülkenberg, he's certainly making a case to be retained for another couple of years.
Cameron CookHOST
15:29
is... little Jordan Lennox style over here.
Cameron CookHOST
15:34
I think that Flavio Briatore will wear some, in honor of the USGP, will wear some USGP themed glasses on race day, either with blue lenses or red lenses.
Cameron CookHOST
15:47
He does.
Cameron CookHOST
15:47
It'll be strictly by coincidence.
Jesse LavorinHOST
12:06
one.
Jesse LavorinHOST
12:06
The way that Flavio is team principal is what United is a McLaren factory team.
Jesse LavorinHOST
12:13
Actually, yeah.
Jesse LavorinHOST
12:14
Actually, yeah.

23 MINS LATER

Jesse LavorinHOST
35:15
Maybe.
Jesse LavorinHOST
35:16
I don't know.
Jesse LavorinHOST
35:16
Flavio Briatore would be the principal of Alpine.
DamienHOST
35:20
