So if people aren't clicking on those games because they look like slop or they – It doesn't push them to the forward of the queue.

So if they're scrolling through and they're like, well, Clicky Bird, Flappy Bird, Flappy Bird, Vampire Survivor Clone, blah, blah, blah.

And then, you know, they're stopping and they're clicking on, oh, I like Warhammer or I like blah, blah, blah, you know.

and then it's like all right well you're into jrpgs you're into you know fighters or whatever so you've clicked on this game so your next curation list comes through and you've got more of those sort of titles on there and then you know there's a bit of slop in there then obviously you're going to scroll past that because you're like well i don't want that i want the the quality version so

Narrative design in games is different from game writing in that it is like a subset of game design where instead of being like, okay, I want to make a, let's say, a game like Flappy Bird.

Okay.

We're going to be like, okay, but like, what are you really trying to do? Like, what's the narrative of Flappy Bird? Like, why is the birds flapping? You know, somebody has to.

Oh, okay.

Somebody has to think of this.

Like making a game makes sense.

Because a game is basically, it can be split in between mechanics and why we are here, right? Obviously some games you just play for the fun of like the mechanic.

it's you know this always has always been a problem yeah I mean when

Flappy Bird came out yeah a thousand clones were

made but at the very least at the very least the original person had their own original code that played it the specific way that they had to play it.

The clones at the very least had to try to mimic the feeling by figuring out their own stuff.
