Flagstaff Tower

Three years back, I visited Kamla Nehru Ridge.

At the ridge, there is a small round structure called the Flagstaff Tower.

In 1857, when revolutionaries from Meerut entered Delhi, many European civilians escaped the walled cities and spent the night there, waiting for the help to arrive from Meerut.

But Meerut had already crumbled.

Many of them were dumped in the same lake.

This Jheel is called the Khuni Jheel.

That day, I easily walked to the Flagstaff Tower.

But finding the way to the Jheel was difficult.
