There's ball three outside, 3-2.

Flagpole is in left field by the visitor's bullpen.

And the wind is blowing that flag now from first toward third, from the right field foul pole toward the left field foul pole.

Toward left where a ball could be helped a little bit, maybe.

Ring the field is a large part, and is the favorite of pitchers, for the spacious reaches of the outfield make batters earn extra base hits, especially home runs.

The right field foul line runs from home through first on towards the flagpole straight into the east, making the right fielder the sun gardener.

The left foul line from home over third and on points an elongated white marker towards the north.

Down the right foul line, the distance is 371 feet, with the wire fence gearing to 356 feet in right shutter and on until over 400 feet away at the scoreboard.

It extends from the scoreboard halfway across to the foul line.

So there's plenty of playing field between the left end of the lower bleacher in left field and the foul line.

Now, the stand we're in is a double deck grandstand which extends all the way from the right field flagpole down here to the plate, then along the left field line to the flagpole in left field.

So Wrigley Field today is completely encircled with fans.
