The Destroyer tour was July the 3rd, and it ran right in the middle of the Bison County celebration that summer, and it was so deeply connected with the Bison County, but there was Flags.

Staffing cuts downplayed.

Drapeau, Deputy Superintendent of the National Park, downplayed the impact that staffing cuts imposed by the Trump administration may have had on the park's preparedness for a flash flooding emergency.

As a federal agency, we're always in a position to adjust to the changing circumstances in Washington, Drapeau told reporters August 31st in response to a question about whether cutbacks hampered the park's response.

We were able to identify, sustain the safety of, and eventually evacuate the vast number of people in harm's way.

Drapeau tied the extent of the damage caused by the floods to wildfires in 2025 that left the area vulnerable to debris flows following heavy rains.

He also said park authorities were investigating why a flash flood alert system activated during the deluge and then suddenly went offline.

He said it was not yet clear how the system going offline affected park officials' response to the emergency.
