Josh McCaffertyGUEST
6:17
Yeah, it was a bit of, um, arrogance, it looked like.
Josh McCaffertyGUEST
6:19
The, um, Rangers, you obviously look at some of their, their previous results this season, crashing out of the Conference League to, to Jablonec.
Josh McCaffertyGUEST
6:26
They've obviously won their last four domestic games leading into this one, but before that, some of the performances and results weren't entirely convincing.
Josh McCaffertyGUEST
6:33
But they put that aside and, and Derek McInnes, fair play to him, come up with a game plan to, to target Celtic's weaknesses, and he did it well.
Blair MalloyHOST
54:12
... to what we've seen over in the Czech Republic for that, what is the nadir.
Blair MalloyHOST
54:16
I know people hate that word, right? But the nadir of this season was that defeat against Jablonec.
Blair MalloyHOST
54:21
To contrast that two, three weeks ago to what we've seen here today, it's night and day.
Blair MalloyHOST
54:27
It's a completely different team.
Joshua BarrieHOST
34:31
No
Derek ClarkHOST
34:31
... as I, uh, had to utter after the, the Jablonec game, but that is, uh-
Joshua BarrieHOST
34:35
Oh.
Derek ClarkHOST
34:36
Uh, yeah, uh-

Life in a one-club city with a sizeable fan base is one thing, but life in his new home from home is quite another.

11:26
On Thursday night, Neil was replaced at the break and had to watch on as Derek McInnes' side were beaten by Jablonec in the Conference League.
speaker_0NARRATOR
11:37
On Sunday, he played his part in a Premiership victory that has raised the spirits and started to change the narrative around Rangers as Aberdeen were overcome at Pittodrie.

11:52
McInnes' side returned from Czechia and checked into a base in the north-east on Friday morning.
speaker_0NARRATOR
13:11
I think you're seeing the connections that we've built over the last few days out on the pitch.
speaker_0NARRATOR
13:19
The win over the Dons was only the third that McInnes' side have recorded in their eight outings across four competitions this term.
speaker_0NARRATOR
13:30
Time will tell if it proves to be a foundation to build upon or another false dawn, like the triumph against St Mirren and the first leg against Jablonec.

13:41
Any team with a dozen fresh faces under the guidance of a new manager will naturally need time to form relationships and build momentum.
Zdenek LukasHOST
1:03
And as you can see, I'm also recording...
Zdenek LukasHOST

this part one on my bicycle so what is this vlog going to be about well of course football and of course I will attempt to teach you some English because I'm an English teacher after all English teacher passionate about football so the idea here is that I'm gonna tell you about the two games that I have been to or one of them I'm actually on my way to live right I have already attended one game this was the conference league qualifier between Jablonec, Nadniso and Glasgow Rangers and now I'm on my way to the Slavia Prague Zbrojovka Brno game, which is a game in the Czech league, in the first Czech league.
Zdenek LukasHOST
1:59
You know what, I'm actually quite lucky that I teach people in football, because both of these games, actually I got tickets for free from my students.
Zdenek LukasHOST
2:10
Because in the first case, in the case of Jablonec, I teach someone from the Jablonec staff.
Zdenek LukasHOST
2:18
Okay, I'm not gonna say his name here publicly, because I don't know if I have his permission.
Zdenek LukasHOST
2:22
But now you know, it's a man.
Zdenek LukasHOST
3:36
And so Jablonet managed to score a goal in, I believe, around the 70th minute.
Zdenek LukasHOST
3:43
And then nothing happened in the extra time.
JBHOST
4:35
Going into the game, I was actually looking forward to it, which I can't say too many times over the last few months, or certainly this season with Rangers.
JBHOST
4:42
I felt as if the results at Pataudry and the results at Falkirk in the week kind of showed a little bit of character from the team to come through them games after what can only be described as the disaster of, well, we keep saying Prague, obviously it wasn't Prague, but Jablonec.
JBHOST
4:59
So to come through that, I think, was... to come through them two games, sorry, I think was kind of really setting us up.
JBHOST
5:05
And then we knew that Motherwell were going to come and have a right good go.
Alex RaePANELIST
21:51
Yeah, absolutely.
Alex RaePANELIST
21:51
I think the, the one you mentioned last week, uh, Jablonec, um, to leave him out against that.
Alex RaePANELIST
21:56
Now, there's obviously discussions ongoing, but if the discussions were that to be a loan deal to Besiktas, I don't think that's something you would be kind of too keen to entertain.
Alex RaePANELIST
22:04
But I don't think it favors Rangers.

43 MINS LATER

Alex RaePANELIST
65:09
The value of the player also diminishes, uh, because he's going into the last year, so.
Alex RaePANELIST
65:13
But I, I don't have any reservations about Nico Raskin firing any tackles tonight.
Andrew MacleanHOST
65:17
Is it a frustration for you, Ross, that he didn't play in those Jablonec games, you know, which were so vital? It's not to say that Rangers definitely would have had European football if he'd started those games, but would Rangers have had a better chance? Do you wish he had played in those games?
RossAUDIENCE
65:31
Of course I would, aye.
Chris SuttonHOST
4:18
But I don't understand that.
Chris SuttonHOST
4:21
I did not understand... why he didn't play against Jablonec.
Chris SuttonHOST
4:28
He had to play.
Chris SuttonHOST
4:29
It was a massive game for Derek McInnes, a game which he had to win.
Zdenek LukasHOST
35:47
They lost 3-0 in Belgrade in Serbia.
Zdenek LukasHOST
35:51
and then on on the home on the home soil somehow they turned it around and won the game 5-1 similarly to i i did one episode about uh uh last cleanses victory against a celtic celtic glasgow so this was pretty much the same thing so that's why mick repose made it to the group stage of europa league And then finally, we do have Jablonec, Jablonec nad Nisou, also in the Conference League after beating Glasgow Rangers, which is definitely an upset too.
Zdenek LukasHOST
36:26
And I have to say, I had to mention this because I haven't done an episode about it, but I actually did go there and attended the game live.
Zdenek LukasHOST
36:35
I was in Jablonec, so I have to say, Tomáš, one of the best experience football experiences in my life ever the first time ever i saw penalties live so yeah what do you make of this do you have anything anything to add any
Tomáš DaničekGUEST
36:55
yeah no i i think um as i was looking at all those like uh data-based um assessments of of each of these teams um draw basically it seems like all of them were not really in luck like all of them are in the basement when it comes to the hardest draws basically but at the same time like and i don't really as i mentioned i actually really follow just one league so even for the premier league teams i don't really know whether they are strong enough whether they are in good shape and that sort of stuff
Zdenek LukasHOST
37:28
right But I
Tomáš DaničekGUEST
39:25
of course, speaking
Zdenek LukasHOST
39:26
of beaches, there's a club with a beach as well, Brighton.
Lee WingateHOST
28:29
He's won the extra class with them.
Lee WingateHOST
28:31
Rangers, meanwhile, lost to the Czech side Jablonec in the Conference League playoff round.
Lee WingateHOST
28:37
a team who are only in Europe because the winning cup finalists, Carvino, were punished for match fixing and will miss out on Europe entirely.
Lee WingateHOST
28:45
So that didn't end well, did it, for the Scottish side?
