Five Below

Once I found out, like I r- I used to bitch endless- endlessly about whenever I'd go to movie theaters, I'm like, "Why the fuck is the, the candy $8, and I can go to like Five Below or like a gas station or like a, a Walgreens and get it for like $2 or whatever?" And then I found out that it's like the, the, like the movie theater does not get a huge cut of a lot of the revenue of the movie.

They get a relatively small cut.

So that accounts for a lot of ticket prices.

And they're just like cards you can scan on your Nintendo Switch and you can buy packs of them.

Well, Dev wanted to collect the set and nobody really had the packs besides Five Below.

She's like, let's drive around to Five Below and buy the packs.

Well, like, A month after we went and bought all the cards on Nintendo announced that they're coming out with a new animal crossing game and that the cards are going to work on the new game.

So instantly those cards went from being penny cards to even the most common card was selling for six, $7.

You know, I am super cheap.

So places like Five Below have resistance bands, Ross, Marshalls.

And my mother has reminded me so eloquently that on certain days, seniors actually get discounts at these stores.

So they can get even cheaper.

All I've seen is toddlers disappear in there to presumably go haywire.

I have not really been in there myself.

I can only picture exactly what you're saying to me, which is a squishy dumpling.

And my first thought was, oh shit, what now? But I didn't have to think, oh shit, what now? Because there was not a what now.

And so I very much remember having that moment in the middle of this, it's called Five Below.

I was in the middle of this Five Below and I got the text and I was like, fuck, what now? And then I looked at my phone and was like, oh yeah, there isn't a what now.

There isn't like we're done.

We're done with what now for now, as far as I know.

But it's been pretty good.

I want to talk about how Five Below won't last for a long time.

Five Below will be gone in the next two to three years.

When Five Below came out, it was for Five Below, which means $5 and what? Five and below.

I don't want to hear about five and beyond, five to the left, five to the right, five up your ass.

Them niggas got a $30 section in the store now, dog.

At five below, the only draw to five below was the five below.

Well, you can get a speaker for $4.

So we're going to have to move locations and see if that will change things up.

We're also changing the clientele because we just went from CVS who has a larger transactional purchase element, like people are spending more money there than they are at Five Below.

So we're going to see if people

who save a little bit of money date a little bit more.
